pro 1200 must see info
if you own a pro1200 you should really see this pic its a great shot of the fuel tank that is offset to one side causing the right front to be corner heavy and affecting handling.in the classifieds look at the first pic posted on page 2.see how the tank is pushed about 3+" to the right side

Isn't most course racing done mostly in a counter clockwise direction? I could see that being done to help keep the ski planted flatter in cornering.

the pro1200 was built to race except unlike the pro785 polaris figured in selling them in stock form as well.the triple pipe setup was formatted which dictated that the tank be moved to accommadate the pipes being routed thru there.so if you bought a pro1200 and the pipe kit they'd bolt right in,seeing as how moving the tank didn't affect a stock pipe setup the modification was left.recentering the tank WILL improve handling on a stock pipe ski.but if your gonna center the tank why not use the slx version and gain 2.5 gallons of capacity??

This is great info, to get more fuel and balance out the ski. Would be good for long trip. But I do want pipes in the future, at least in 1 of my skis, but for the other i will keep me eyes open for A 2000 slx tank.

The one advantage of the small tank is that it will fit through the hatch. Nice for when a stator goes out.

i've changed a stator and bendix with the tank in and removing only one pipe.i just think having an extra 2.5 gallons would be very cool not to mention a more balanced ski.i have a 1 gallon red jug i fill and strap in the front when i ride the river.so as i can i use it to fill the tank to top it off.
