Pump cone extension?
I have a jet pump stator with this extension mounted to the back.
Does anybody know what this cone extension does?
It's about 1 inch thick. How much gain is there?

Do you know what year and model hull this jet pump stator came from?
Is the spacer symmetrical, or does it angle the tail cone?
There was a 'twisted' tail cone on some year(s) of a certain model (don't recall which, maybe a 780), to offset a tendency to turn under power. I think there was a special ride plate on those same models

Thanks K. It came on a 97 SL1050.My other 1050 does not have one.
I did not measure it all the way around, but it appears to be even.
It is attached with phillips screws, makes me think it is after market.
The pump did have the factory impeller installed.(5131686 ,only the 97 SL1050 used this imp)
I remember an update for the 96 SLX780,I received the instructions in a box with an impleller I bought. It was to replace the 4 blade impeller with a 3 blade 15/20-remove some sort of extension(no description),the kit came with the shorter Allen head screws to reattach the cone.

Curiosity will force me to try it atleast once. The previous owner rode it this way,so how bad could it be? Than again it had a mark on the hull where it appears it ran into a dock, maybe this is why.LOL
What effect will moving the cone closer to the exit nozzle have?

might add 1mph but will hurt takeoff, not worth the compromise,
