R&D pump cone...Is it a paperweight or worthwhile?
I have 1 that's been sitting on the shelf for awhile. I plan to test it once I get my new prop, but I'm curious what to expect. Does it help in the rough stuff, and is there any speed loss on flat water?

Maybe you can shave a few oz if it weighs less than oem.

Several guys over on the 250x side tried them last year.
None of them could see any differance. The pump cone is just more of the same ole R&D snake oil.

+1 I am pretty sure that the GPR guys that tried the pump cone said it didnt do anything but take money from their wallet

Thats what I thought, but I hadn't heard anything from the SHO people yet.

Results are in...I gained .4mph(not quite the full 1 mph as advertised). Conditions were 74 E temp 66 L temp & moderate humidity. I did the test back to back about 30 min apart(E temp had dropped 2deg on second test). It was hard to compare the holeshot after beating up my 13/23 over the weekend...I dulled the leading edges after running aground and powered off because I was 20 ft from a 12 ft gator that was coming my way. Because of the damage the prop wasn't biting as well and cavitating off the line during both tests but acceleration felt about the same. It also seemed to drop my revs a bit because my boost was down by .1-.2psi. I was in such a hurry I forgot to bring a dig tach and on the second run it was too dark to see the stock analog so I'll post more data once my 12/22 arrives. Not bad for a cheap easily installed part.
BTW, I had some water in the pump grease when I pulled the cone, so you guys might want to check yours...Rip had the same issue but a little worse and Riva replaced the seals under warranty.
