    RXP Cracked Hull

Hi guys my mate has a 07 rxp with cracks in the front of the foot wells just before it goes up on the 45 degree angle. Has anyone seen this happen before? He took it to the dealer and he is telling him that it is common and that it is not covered under warrenty. I think thats BS. The dealer also said to him that the rxp is not designed for the surf, what a joke!
Ill try and get some pics and post them tomo.

Yes i have these cracks in exactly the same place on my rxp. I believe they are stress cracks which can be due to wave jumping which puts stress on the hull and causes these cracks to appear. I believe it is quite a common thing to happen.

i dont have any on my 04 rxp... and it gets ridden pretty hard. If they are stress cracks, i would think they should be covered under warrenty; especially if the machine is in good condition. just keep calling BRP... eventually you will get someone good who will accept the warrenty. hope everything works out.

Hell... I babied my 2000 Ultra and had little craks popping up everywhere on the top deck.

I've ridden my 06 RXP countless times in the ocean jumping waves, only hairline cracks on the hull, nothing anywhere else. Made in Canada

Hey Damo, consider yourself fortunate, at least it didn't peel apart like a banana like some others... Truth is, a small percentage of RXP's have had delamination issues which are usually related to hull impact. (do a search for more info) As for the stress cracks, I can tell you that just about any fiberglass boat (including very expensive ones) will get them if subjected to a lot of rough water. People jump them all the time, but unfortunately these heavy 4 strokes were not designed for jumping, the manual is very clear about it.
