    2004/06 FX HO info

I'm looking at a pair of Yamaha's one is an 06' FX 50th Anniversary edition and the other is an 04' FX Cruiser High Output

Are these reliable skis? being Yamaha 4 strokes I would assume it but just checking.
Hows the top speed on these? Don't want to buy something slow.
Do they handle well? I have been primarily looking at 2 seaters

if you want speed ,then they arent for you, stock GPS approx 58-61mph
    Reliable -Yes they are very
handle -well they handle good for what they are, the 3 seater's handle VERY well for a stock ski in the open water, just lack some HP, but average to poor in stock form in a CC situation

I loved my 05HO cruiser, neighbour has it now , 200+hr still going strong.

58-60 isn't horribly slow considering I am used to about 55 topped out, however if I'm going to purchase skiis then I would like to buy something fast.

Are there any fairly easy mods that can be done to these skis? Something able to go 65 would be ideal.

Riva makes an "rpm kit" that puts it in the low 60's, I think 63-64. My brother has one and it's a very nice handling ski but it's just not a hot rod if that's what you're looking for.

You sound like you're looking for more of a hot rod. Think about the model year you're looking to purchase. In 2006, 65 was pretty upper-echelon. The only stock skis up in that range in 06 would have been RXP, RXT, 1300R yes?

I think most realize gains of 2-3 mph with rpm kit. What the RPM Kit adds is midrange.
It is the most reliable, most fuel efficient, and easiest ski to own.
