RXT-X What Mods to start w/$2500
Need some info for the RXT-X. I have $2500 to spend on mods before the race season and looking for some good advice. The ski is mostly going to race super course, but probably going to run some closed course also. I know budget racing is probably not the way to be out front but what can you do.

You may want to contact Jeff (JAWZ) about his prop pitch,
Phil gained 6+mph on his T-X by changing stock air filter to a RIVA power filter and a JAWZ prop at the same time. You can read more on that here:

another thought...not sure how it works for racing but that ecu reflash can be done.. increase rpm on stock valve train for X series to 8400 and you can run different levels of boost.. the rest of your cash could go towards injectors and sc upgrade

What are the rules for super course as far as allowable mods to the ski. You'll probably want a worx grate. 4 inch front air or riva power filter, different prop, maybe a reflashed ecu if legal, different sponsons for more predictable turning, eliminate the flame suppressor if legal, rear exhaust etc. Some of the racers will chime in and they would know whats legal and what's not. I would think for closed course you might want acceleration over top speed and the ability to turn hard without cavitation. Just my 02.

really it depends what class or classes he wants to race and how far he wants to go into mods.

I agree with you kenshin! i think everyone has a prefrence of how their ski handles nobody can really tell what HE wants.

Thanks again for the feed back. I'm mainly going to run supercourse and I'd to run a few closed course races. For starters i'll probably run the ski in Novice Limited and may if it can hang in there in the open class. Also will probably run it in the veterans class which i guess is an open class.

If you're new to racing I'd stick to a kind of simple setup for now. With Supercourse(I raced it in 2006) I've seen less modified boats stay with more modified ones because the modified boat couldn't keep the ski hooked up and even beat them because they had engine problems.
