    Riva air filter on GP1200R

my dad has an 02' 1200 with the Riva air filters, should all the bs restrictive stuff be left hooked up under the hood area? or should it all be disconnected and taken out and replaced with something better?

Take it out... unless you jump a lot or plan on rolling the ski a lot, you don't need it.

Does he have watersocks on the carbs? Will others be riding it? You ride in the ocean?

I'd leave it, AND make sure to have watersocks on. Opinions may vary, but saltwater inside an engine is a nasty mistress.
