    Installing X steering on Rxp

Does anyone know if the X steering fits in the same 4 holes as the Rxp?

I finally have all the X steering parts together. I pulled out the Rxp steering last night. I needed a couple of tools so I could finish tonight. A friend just told me he thinks the holes do not line up.

I searched Reids thread but got tired.

I was going to recommend Reids thread. IIRC, he had to do some modifications to get it to fit... Ron

The holes line up, the neck on the X steering system is to thick to go through the hole. Thus Reid used a demmel tool.

Thank you for the pms and problem is solved.

Just want to follow up on this because I have an X system on the way for my RXT. Any pics or further information on this would be appriciated. Doesnt seem to be a lot of information on the swap. How does eveyone like the X setup vs the stock 06 or 07+ setup?

Ok, so I have my X steering, I have the speedfreeks bracket, everything is in. HOWEVER....... the plug that has VTS on my ski (RXT) has a 4 pin plug with 4 female pins and on the X there is a 6 pin plug with 5 male pins. There is an extra black/purple wire that is going to the DESS post on the X. Why are the DESS posts different? Will the X DESS post work on my ski? Should that cable just not be connected?

The right way to do this would be to cut the 4 male pins from the X setup and crimp the 4 female pins on. I think we had to do this when we installed the VTS on my ski. Or they can be cut and spliced. Either way will work, but the right way just eliminates extra connections.

Any input on the install would be greatly appriciated.
