    New project

I just picked up a 97 GSX today. Looks like I'll need to re-sleeve the cylinders at a minimum, and other than being dirty, it's in pretty good shape. Won't be able to really tear into until maybe tomorrow afternoon...

Doing anything special with it, or just your basic rebuild?

Just your basic rebuild. This is going to end up being my wife's ski. The guy I got it from did say he put a new impeller on it, but couldn't tell me the specs though. I haven't seen enough to tell what brand. I've got a good 2 months to get it tore down and rebuilt before it's even warm enough to go play on the water. Yes, that's snow on the trailer.

Take it all the way down and reassemble it replacing all parts that wear or are worn and you will have a new ski with very little issues. Probably run all season with out a single problem

Are you going to leave the oil injection system on it or run it pre-mix?

I haven't decided to tear it all the way down yet, I'm going to rebuild the top end and carbs for sure. It's supposed to have about 70hrs on it, but I haven't thrown power to it yet to look at the hour meter. I basically opened it up, looked at the cylinders (heads were off), made sure nothing was seized up, hull was in good shape, etc. This is my 2nd ski. I'm learning as I go basically. Got the ski for $700. I may go premix on this, & do my 96 Raider at the same time, I left the oil pump running in it last summer. I'm open to all suggestions on this. Thanks guys!

The seadoo oil injection system is a good system. If its working fine, i would leave it on.

Smooth out, or replace the whole head cover?
