Installing keyway ?
Getting ready to do the keyway but have a question. Do I have to remove oil pump or can I leave on cover? Tried to search for instructions but didn't come up with much. Putting VF3's in also so oil lines loose.

Take the oil pump off. There is a slot on the pump shaft that goes into the end of your crank shaft and its VERY important to align them up BEFORE assembly.

If your not going to premix it is just as easy to take the oil pump off, just lay it aside, and do the vf-3s next. you will have everything off any how. I did mine in the ski with a mirror and a "rent a too kit " from ADVANCED AUTO parts. Use the harmonic balancer hit. it will even have the right bolts for the job. It is 100.00 but you get it back in the end, even the tax.
When I did the vf-3s I used "copper coat" gasket spray on sealer, it is real sticky and held all the gaskets together while I bolted it up. but if you have to ever remove them It will be messy, I trade that for ease of putting it together
Make sure you have all kind of small wire ties for those oil lines

i am curious about the 3 degree keyway stuff...what rpm range does this help the most with..and will it hinder the 3000-7800rpm powerband?am in the process of readin the other article.

Like I said. I only used it because it helps hold all three of the cage gakets in place. I am sure it is not needed. but the last place I want a leak is on my motor.

But it would advance you timmimg across the curve. I don't not much about efi skis. I believe they use a 3* keyway with a add on ignition. I am sure one of the gurus can answer this better.
