05 RXP & RXT maintenance tune ups...please help...

While the skis aren't being used, I figured it would be a good time to do a few things to help keep them running in tip top shape. Both skis are bone stock. I am not really looking for a huge HP/ speed increase but if I gain any it wouldnt hurt

1st on the list, my RXP is leaking coolant from what appears to be the ride plate. http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=82646

I already have the pump out and will be pulling the ride plate later on in the week to address the problem. Is there anything else I need to be aware of while doing this?

Also, I took a feeler gauage and checked the clearance between the impellar and the wear ring, I am getting about .010 -.012 is this normal or is it time to change the ring?

I bought both skis used with less that 30 hrs on them and they currently have about 50 hrs on them. The oil has been recently changed by myself. What other things should I be doing? Pump bearings, oil, seals for the drive shaft?

The wear limit is .014" for the wear ring, so yours is pretty well warn. The pump is filled with grease, not oil. While the pump is off, take the rear cone off and check for water intrusion. If there's no water, put the cone back on and you're done. If there is oil, you will at least need seals. Grease the end of the drive shaft before you put the pump back on... Ron

if that is the case, then mine is to tight... cause I have .010-.012 between each side.

    The .014 wouldnt fit..

.014" is the wear limit. If you have .001" that is great. If you have .012" that's alot of wear. .014" is when the manual recommends replacing the wear ring... Ron
