    fuel line troubles

    hey guys, i went to go change my gray fuel lines on my 99 spx yesterday. According to the DIY fuel cleaning you are supposed to use 5/16 and 1/4 fuel lines. When i cut off the hoses they said 6mm and 8mm. Should i use 6mm and 8mm lines or should i get 5/16 and 1/4 lines. Thanks in advance

    6mm = 1/4"
    8mm = 5/16"

    I wouldn't use zip ties on any fuel line in a PWC. Too much risk of explosion & what gets launched is your very own butt! Of course if it's the wife's ski, well then....

    cool, thanks ziggy. Do you know about how many feet of the 6mm and 8mm lines i will need for the spx, i know they change for different machines.

    The 99 SPX should use ~15' of 5/16 and 5' of 1/4.

    I prefere zip-ties but ONLY Thomas & Betts HD with stainless inserts. (they are hard to find now that HomeDepot dropped them)

    They changed to 8mm when the 951's came into being. All pickups were changed, but who knows why they didn't make the return lines the same like the 951s? Neither engine needs it for fuel flow on the returns, it just doesn't make sense.
