    xlt pump

i have 2002xlt 1300 carburated with d-plate,riva gas valves,vf3,moded r&d plate, riva 1200 intake,150 psi stock head, pump kit, advent cdi and i wanted to know if this is enough power to use a 14 vien setback with 13/19 swirl prop. i live in the virgin islands so the water are a little choppy sometimes. i also have the 05 pump with 14/20 dnafly. has any one used either on an xlt?

hmmm i was hoping it would have been a little better on the top end... i am planning on having the head milled this spring on mine adding the VF3;s then also..... i'm sure this has been done and someone will chime in.... i bet your accelleration is strong....

Just 2 different results, good hole shot doesnt necessarily help top end speed...

yes use the Skat pump (which pump you use has nothing to do with HP)

    you could use either impeller

Dynafly should be 2 mph faster (it could be as much as 4 mph faster)

13/19 swirl will have better holeshot and mid range

but I suspect the 13/19 isn't a steep enough pitch - for this reason you may suffer on the top end quite a bit - with a similar motor set-up I used a 16/25 swirl on my GPR -

I have an extra 16/21 which might be a better choice for your xlt - if you want to buy it let me know

way back in 2000/2001 when I had a GP1200R with just a head and CDI with my skat pump I used a 13/19 and it was the correct pitch
