    does touchdown reduce boost pressure

I have purchased supercharger wheels with touchdown marks, some mild and some moderate and have never had any issues running them

but I wonder if the missing material.......larger clearance between blades and front housing makes a difference in how it performs (effeciency, psi, midrange, etc.)

I have never owned two of the same SC impellers at the same time to compare.

    Any feedback will help
    THANKS

any pics? Some touch down wear is normal on the blade tips.

The S3 runs a pretty tight tolerance so it's normal to have marks on the outer edge of the tips.

I'd still like to see pics though.

I got some pics........I'm wondering if light water ingestion might have done some of this......got caught in the rough harbor with a rear air intake and crosswind I know I had to be sucking some saltwater in.
The front housing doesn't look bad but the impeller just won the superbowl

Looks like you were 1 step away from a destroyed engine.

That's what I was hoping for.........I would love for BRP to pay me to fix my own engine.....I have till October

But all the metal from the touchdown should have gone thru the top end and back out the exhaust

Buying a used supercharger assembeled is like rolling dice.......I only put about 4 hours on it since i purchased it......

IS THE FRONT HOUSING STILL USABLE?
    ARE CERAMIC BEARINGS A LETDOWN?
SHOULD I EVER RUN THIS AGAIN WITH NEW BEARINGS?

I have a stage 3 impeller and front housing almost on the way for my customer who has already payed me for the one that's in the picture.......I'm taking a huge loss

I have a 140mm back housing and a new rebuild kit ready for a rude 2 upgrade so I'm going that route for me but your S3 is pristine.

Of course I could put it back together and resell it but I would never do that......I guess I'm out the $500 plus I payed for it
