I HAD to share this.
First look at this... http://hartford.craigslist.org/boa/1023945594.html
So I wrote him this:
Just so you know.. there is no such thing as an 1100 Sea-Doo. EVER. Your ski has a 947 or better known as a 951 (I have no idea why Sea-Doo called a 947 a 951) with 130HP. It's a great ski with a great engine but not an 1100. It will do 57MPH on it's best day and that was brand new.
And he sent me this:
your wrong its a GTX limited edition 1100 and its sold all ready ,rare seadoo. sorry it went
68mph top speed look it up.
AHH.. I couldn't just let that one lie. So I wrote this!:
Humm.. Either your completely convinced your right or your full of it. Here is a list of Rotax engines used in Sea-Doos:
1989-1991 587cc "yellow engine" 55HP
1992-1996 587cc "White engine" 55-60HP
1993-1996 657cc "White engine" 75-80 HP
1995-2005 717cc "White/Silver engine" 85HP
1995-2005 787cc Slant RAVE "Silver engine" 110HP
1997-2006 947cc Slant RAVE "Silver engine" (IN YOUR SKI) 130HP
There were a few variations for some of the RAVE engines like RFI and DI.
As for the 4 strokes, Rotax uses the "4-Tec 1400cc inline 4".
The only factory Sea-Doo's to ever hit 68MPH out of the box were;
Even the much newer GTX SC will hit 62MPH on a perfect cool day, with the wind and on glass.
You can never go by the speedometer on skis.. they are better known as the dream-o-meter because they are notoriously 8-15MPH off.
I'm not trying to be a know it all but you were waay too adamant in your response to let it go. Tell you what.. you find info on Sea-Doos 1100 engine and eMail it to me. If Sea-Doo ever put an 1100cc in a Production ski I will buy yours right away.
If you really want to have some fun, post your ski for sale with all the info you believe is accurate on pwctoday.com, greenhulk.net, sea-doo.net
Your knowledge of Sea-Doo will grow harshly fast if you do.
I'll post his response when it arrives. AYY!

I've heard people call the 951 fast but also called a grenade motor. Or this just false info.
