    Lightbulb Carbon Fiber

    So here goes the topic

So who would like to or knows some one who would like to make some carbon fiber parts that would remain stock specs but lighter and stronger...This way anyone racing in almost any class could use them. And you wouldnt have to run a GP class....

    For instance on a Sea-doo RXP/X RXT/X

    Rear Grab Handle

Seat Base that mounts to hull

Hood that is fully functional with Mirrors back in gauges and a seperate top hood

    Glove box

Seat Pan that you could put original foam and cover back on

Side Fairings that mat to the hood.

I know this all sounds somewhat ( why the hell would you want to do this)

But I haved realized that there is a pretty good market in Eurpoe for carbon fiber parts and all there stuff is $$$$$$$

Why not start making our own over here and try to keep costs down....

Also most of these parts would remain stock spec so a lot of the rules would not matter.

You could also make all your own lightweight stuff as well for unlimited GP

Just an Idea I was looking into trying this myslef, but my mold making abilities are a little on the novice side. I do real well with fiberglass. But to get Carbon fiber to look good with no seams is a bitch. I guess I could do it with seams and not worry about it looking good but that would also defeat some purpose of good looking, Stronger and lighter.....

Just fealing around the forums to see what people think......

Oh yea and any constructive talk will be taken as such.........

    Thanks

You will find, as I learned.. to do this stuff like your saying

first you will need a LOT of time, patience, and you will be spending a lot of money as an initial investment.

It depends on the c/f you want to use. If you want to do a dry carbon, wet carbon, vacuum molded, pre-impregnated carbon fiber, carbon/Kevlar, twill, weave etc.

I've done some c/f work before it does take more patience and preparation than fiberglass. I consider myself really good at custom fiberglass work, but c/f is new ballpark.

I sell a couple kits a month. I don't make fu*k all off my kits. But... the plastic stock stuff looks like crap. My customers are happy so that makes me happy.

if it cost you 200 to make it and try to sell it for 250, unless it has a big name on it most people will want to pay you 195 for it and ship it for free.

built it and they will come!
you don't know until you try! some parts will have a higher selling rate than others due to weight savings.

lmao! you're on the money, bro.

these aren't like hondas or other rice cars. these are one off parts and are not cheap or easy to build.

If a few million rice car owner wanted them, it might be a different story.
