interchangabilty of MFD for 96 slt 780

I am looking for a mfd for a 96 slt 780 and was wondering what the interchangablity of different machines would be for my machine so that I could broaden the boats I am looking at for parts...

    Thanks

    Welcome to the Hulk!

An MFD from any year that used MFD will fit, and work.
Edit: Well, there were round ones in the first few years, then the oval ones in later years.
Electrically, they are about the same.

The main differences are that some model years the MFD also controlled the RPM limiter function, and on the PRO and SLX models, the trim gauge responds faster, to match the faster trim motor in those models.

You can use the Polaris online parts cross reference web site to check what other models had the exact same MFD part number. Look here for the link, and other Polaris PWC info.

If your MFD just has faded display digits, the MFD can often be opened up and repaired.

    Welcome to the Hulk Doc.

The SLT uses the round MFD, is that the one you need?

Any of the round ones will work. Some have a trim position indicator, but SLT's don't have trim, so that wouldn't matter either way.

So you can use any round one from a 93 750 all the way up to a 96 (I think there's a 97 780) SLT.

There's a couple on Ebay right now.

Beer dart had one for sale. Send him a PM.

Or I have a brand new one as a complete kit if interested. It's not gonna be cheap though....

That's the one he needs. I thought all SLT's used the round one.
