    Pump grease/oil exchange ?

Ok, for this season I am going to be running a combination of Amsoil marine gear lube and water resistant lithium grease. I know this has been discussed before so don't shoot me down yet.

My question: how do you clean out the yami grease in the pump so its nice and squeaky clean for the new stuff. I don't wanna tear it apart just to swap out the lubricants.

Any and all expert advise welcome.

This may be armature advise but compressed air should do it. (have a towel handy to catch the grease)

If your replacing the seals then use a can of carb cleaner or brakleen.

    will Brakleen damage the seals?

Doesn't seem to bother the seals on brakes...

, true, but then again, I don`t directly spray the Brakleen behind the wheel/axle hub and onto the seal

I like the idea of the heat gun, I will be trying that in a few weeks.

Did the service on the pump. removed the old grease and poured in the new slurry (by Doug!) The Brakleen worked great. Went thru about 2 cans to flush it out totally. no seal leakage!
Used permatex High performance sealant on the cone bolt threads.

The heat gun doesn`t do sh-t...
