    remove prop?RXT-X

Whats the best way to get the prop off? I've been trying it with a 1/2 impact, also applying heat and no luck.
    Thanks

You need prop removal tool, a vise to put tool in, and a cheater bar with right size torx socket.

    prop , wear ring, dampner

I have the tools just not putting in a vise. I guess i will need to put in a vise a use maybe something a breaker bar. Also does the end of the shaft the part going into the prop supposed to have a rubber dampner? One more thing is the wear ring has some grooves through and i was thinking of changing it while i'm changing the prop. My question is to use an oe one or a ss one.
    Thanks

You have 3 choices. You can flip the original over and reuse it or buy a new oem or go SS. The steel 1 will wear your prop down over time which it will then require a rebuild although the ss wear rings last a long time. I went oem cause I felt the prop was too expensive to consider it a wear item and the oem was alot cheaper then the ss ring. Some people have complained of problems with the ss liner rubbing on the prop. If you ride in really nasty water with alot of trash then plastic might be better. With that being said, ALOT of people are running ss wear rings and love them.

I used a large cresent(adjustable spanner) on the removal tool backed up on the concrete and an inhex socket with breaker bar to break it...you may need someone to hold the pump down whist doing this....I won't ask if you going the right way but it shouldn't be that tight that it needs heat....

I've been there done that, I put the prop tool in the vise, Put the pump on it and used a 3' breaker bar to get it off, it was very hard to turn, but you just keep turning. A Impact just didnt work. Good luck.
