    Peavlers new ski x2

Under the advice of Eric...I'm starting a new thread on my new Blaster 1. It's a 96 Blaster 1 that has the 73hp stock twin carb 62T engine. It has a few added on parts that I'll list below and keep up with as I change things out.

As usual ....I gut the skis and start all over to make sure it's the way I want things. I'm glad I did because I found some melted foam near the exhaust and also a leaking exhaust gasket...and a burnt up hose that I'll need to replace. Keep your eyes open for the front to rear exhaust hose ...it's like the 2" hose. I went ahead and started stripping old stickers off, other logo stickers etc. I got the tank cleaned and extended the Main fuel line and I'll use one for the primer and one the one that is the stock "res" line will feel the carbs. I ordereding a new OEM filter and removed the oil injection system. I'm not crazy the way they installed this into the 38's...and hopefully will find a great deal on some 44's and an intake and I may swtich it over. I got the tank cleaned on the inside and also cleaned up the water box while I wait for parts. I greased the pump and tighted every bolt on the ski from inside hoods..to outside pump parts. It was a good find overall ...there are just a few things I will need to make right. So....this is what is on the agenda

    Hydro Turf in black
Rebuild the stock 38's and install new N/S and remove the choke plates
New OEM fuel filter and I removed the On/OFF switch and will make direct to carbs
New exhaust gaskets where the pipe meets the chamber/Mani
    Oil pump block off plate
    Primer Kit
    Reg stickers
Pro-tec CDI or MSD if I can find one in good shape...and in my budget
Fire Ext....can you believe they took this out....LOL

I've been a cleaning fool inside the hood and the hull etc. It was a very clean blaster outside....inside was not quite as clean from the leaking exhaust burning up the foam and spraying crap everywhere.

In the works....now just got to name it. Smoke sounds good due to the same issue he had....wonder if he would care??

    So far....it has the following

    Riva Head "non-girdled" 180PSI w/ removeable domes
Riva Red Pipe ...with the "L" bracket you usually don't see often
    Riva Top loader intake grate
    Ocean Pro ride plate
Solas 13/17 I prop ...I think. Won't know unless I pulled the pump. I may get to this sometime next week. I'm in the holding pattern until I get the exhaust hose....and also some new exhaust gaskets for the red pipe.

    Nice find!

Can't wait to see the progress you make on it.

I am always looking for one that clean. You got lucky finding that one.

I am so sick of finding them and people thinking it is worth big $ all clapped out.

Lastly....you guys can't even see how clean this blaster is except for the chip on the hood. The paint is AWESOME in the sun....the camera shot does no justice at all. It looks showroom!! The bottom is MINT.......MINT!!
