    HX 951 question

    I know nothing about 2 strokes so forgive my ignorance, but someone was asking about putting a 951 in a HX hull. Has anyone done it or can it be done?

    I've seen this discussed on other forums, and the consensus I saw was that the 787 was about the limit of the engine that hull would take and still handle OK. I'm not sure the 951 would fit without major hacking up of the hood & hull.

    It's been done BUT it tears up everything-drive line,hull I have a 97 hx and would not think of that mod,you can get enough power out of 720 for rec/ playtoy.I have porting,stock pipe,rfi pump with swril prop and bigger carb's will run all day (2 years before freshing up)
    I've ridden hx with bigger motors and anything over 60 mph get really unnerving-thats my opinion

    Pose that question to Bill Oneal @ pcw today .com he's the man. If its been done he would know. It would be a wild ride with 130 ponies on tap.

    Worx did 800 engines. Very nice jobs too. I'd think an 800 would be plenty of power for this hull too.

    I saw a 951 HX, but the pipe was custom welded deal. Looked like crap.

    Better yet, I know a dude here in NY with an 1100 YamaHX. BAD ASS. Unstable as hell though.

    There was an 787 RFI going around in a HX setup by a tech for Bombardier in Grant. I saw it but never saw it run.

    I know this is a old Thread but I thought you'd like to know " 951 in a HX " I did it and it works great
