    R&D intake grate question

Hello all. Love this forum. Lots of great info. I've been a member for quite a while however this is my first post.

My question regards the R&D aquavein intake grate. I have already learned that this is the best grate for riding in chop which is what I primarily ride in. What is the difference between the first design and PRO 2 if any?

I haven't personally heard of the pro 2 but I do run an R&D aquavein on my RXT-X. It cavitates during the holeshot but runs good at top speed. I know they're working on a new grate that is better in the chop but will lose some top speed. The 1 to get for chop is the Worx grate and it seems to be faster then the R&D by 1/2 mph in the X ski's.

Thanx for the reply. The pro 2 is listed in the site store with the girdle kit. There is no description though. I'll look into the Worx grate.

I understand you don't need a girdle kit with an X boat because the hull inserts are improved. If anyone knows anything different please post.

    Not required on the "X".

Thanks Goat. I thought so but wanted to be sure. I've read and seen pics of some horror shows of grates pulling loose on other boats. I think one guy even lost the grate! Like lost at the bottom of the ocean! I like the ocean and don't want to be stranded and end up beached in Portugal!
