    2000 xp cyl and pistons do they look ok?

    ok so my xp is locked up tight im thinking my cylinders and pistons look fine and thinking it might just be my cam and bearings froze up what do you all think? can i just take the motor apart and clean and replace my cam with a new one? i think it had some water integestion then sit for about 4 months. anyone have a good way to free it up?

    I don't see any water injestion, in fact the piston wash & jugs look allright.

    This is a 2 stroke and it does not have a cam it has a crank. which could be locked up inside the engine.

    First take off the pump, and try to turn the driveshaft by hand, your pump just might be frozen.

    yes i did that the driveshaft wont turn and i cant get the pistons to move any? whats the best way to get some oil or pb blaster on the crank to see if it might free it up?

    Time to pull the motor out of it and tear it down.

    pull the pump first... make sure it's not the pump that's locked up.

    Sounds to me like he has removed the pump already.

    this what you mean by pull the pump? there is a little play in it and i can see the prop move so the pump is not stuck? i tried to free it up from the end of the shaft but it wont budge. another question i found a 97 xp that the guy says the motor mounts are broke and the driveshaft is bent and says the motor only has 10 hours on it since rebuilt does the 97 have the 951 in it and what would need to be done to bolt into mine?

    The 97 has the 800 motor.
