    Solas 15/20 vs. Solas 15/20R

Any difference with these props besides weight. Is it worth buying the R and spending the extra money to have Riva's name on it?

There should be no difference in weight???

The "R" designation means the impeller is pitched blocked for accuracy.

I am thinking about buying the R model also. I did not know that being pitch blocked makes it hard to tweak.

I will probably need to tweak it soon.

Also Jerry if I buy the solas out of the store with next day delivery could it be here friday

If I understand correctly, "Pitch Blocked" means the impeller pitch is put in a guage and check for accuracy. Even if you are going to be tweeking it, it would give you a base to start at versus having each blade at a different measurement and then bending. I would have thought that it would be better to have all the blades at the same measurement before tweeking. Am I not thinking correctly? --j

From my understanding... these props are very difficult to bend I may be wrong as I have never run one though

i thought all they did was take a normal prop (15/20 for example) and ensure that all the blades measure 15/20 versus each blade be slightly off.

I had a 13/20 on the 185 hp ski, and bent that thing every way possible...Prop origomi! The first prop I learned how to tweek.

Im my mind... that would mean "pitch checked"... not "pitch blocked"
