It depends on which waterbox you go with.

just put the riva onto a race rxpx as with the straight system i tried it was 113db!! cool but to loud so fitted the riva box and it still sounds grunty but not super loud so happy with it.
I dont like the way you need to remove opas to run it though so put the outlet up higher and changed the piping a bit so i can retain the opas for handling reasons (cc boat)

Can anyone point me to a thread that lists all the different exhaust/intake set ups, i.e. thru hull, rear exhaust, free flow, power filter kit...I'm looking to get less restrictive air flow, but I am confused about all the different types of exhaust systems. I've been trying to find definitions (more in depth than the small synopsis on the 4tec store page). I'll be getting a kit for sure once I understand what everything is. If I have a rear exhaust, does it do me any good without a better intake?? What's the difference between a rear exhaust and a free flow exhaust. Which is better?

You definitely want to do the 4" kanaflex hose air intake mod. It flows way better then stock or aftermarket. It's a home made setup utilising 4" flexible hose with a 4" filter on the end that goes all the way to the front of the hull to protect against water intrusion. The free flow exhaust just replaces the resonator (muffler) with a length of pipe and uses the oem exhaust opening. Gaines are minimal but it sounds good. The rear exhaust is just what it sounds like. You cut a hole in the rear of the hull and plug the factory opening. With this mod you will have to get block offs to cover the OPAS openings (you ditch the OPAS) and most people buy a different waterbox. There are several on the market and they all sound a little different. Do a search on waterbox and intake flow testing from Danny. Hope this helps a little. Start reading.
