Free agent football friday
Well it kicks off today and I'm already psyched. MY Pats signed an over the hill running back to take the load of the 5 other guys they use.. Just kidding, looks like a classic Belicheckian pick.
Personally Im hoping they go after Jim leonard the safety out of Baltimore and maybe a good blocking tightend and third reliable wide out. but im not expecting much more. EVerything elsee will be via the draft. GO PATS!
so lets hear it from the rest of you guys and what your team is doing!

IS CT's own Dan Orlovsky a free agent now or is he still with the Lions?

Hes a free agent.. and hes talking about 'testing the waters' but if the Lions dont want you, who will?
If you dont even know the rule about stepping out of the endzone on a drop-back Id say youre chances of being a starting QB anywhere are somewhat limited.

Younger linebackers. Thats what we need most, obviously.
We also need a power RB. The Pats have never been able to replace Dillion as a 3rd down/redzone/goal-line back.
Maroney is an absolute bust. He has no power and no cut moves.
Granted, with the Pats system any competent RB will do well. Teams are so afraid of the passing attack and the deep threat that they will give up yards on the ground.. but obviously you need to have a strong ground game in the playoffs, especially in New England.
Imagine if we had a Marrion Barber-type back???

That deal baffles me... the Bucs were willing to give up a first and third round pic for Cassel... and they give him to the chiefs for a second rounder and then throw in Vrabel..... I know that Pioli and Belichick are buddies.. but its NOT like Belichick to do favors for anyone, friend or not. If its not in the interest of winning Belichick wants nothing to do with it.
Belichick must be cookin something up

Im not really excited about Fred Taylor.. im sure they picked him up cheap.. and hes better than anything they have currently but hes obviously NOT a long term solution. They need to deal Maroney and find a new feature back. Hes NOT the guy they thought he was/would be.
