Looking for performance help for 130 GTI

Does anyone have any input on some performance mods for a GTI. My buddy has a 130hp model and is looking for a little more out of it like a prop, intake grate, air intake stuff like that. Whats different about the 155 hp GTI will any of the 155/185/215 parts cross over to this motor. I am not too familiar with this model so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The 130 HP is two cycle motor. Nothing will interchange. To spruse up his 130--Rossier pipe--Rossier head--Change jets and pop off valves and V forece reeds. This will get it to about 165 HP. A Newjet prop works well with this engine set up.

The 130 is a four stroke. It has been used in the GTI platform since 06. The 951 from previous years is the one you are thinking of Sundance. I read that the difference is mainly in the ecu but there may be some sort of restriction in the throttle body.

I think the first 4-tec that came out in 02 was 130hp. id say intake grate for sure. You could also do exaust and air intake but i dont know if the gains would be worth it. Im going to guess but id say between 130 hp and 155hp the pistion are the most likely diffrence. For the prices RXP and RXT's are selling for might be cheaper in the long run to trade it in on one.

The first 4-tecs were 155 hp. The 130 didn't come out until the 06 year in the GTI.

Ever wonder why there are leftover 155-hp RXPs? Within a month, the buyers are dissapointed... Ron

I'm just saying that if you want 155hp, it makes no sense to spend money on a GTI. We have left over 155hp rxp because we have picked up inventory from other dealers that have gone out of business. I also have RXPX and RXTX for those that want to go fast.
