3 blade will give you better hookup and acceleration. 4 blade will be 1+mph faster top end. 3 blades also seem to like higher RPM than the stock ECU provides.

I run both and feel that both offer advantages. The 4 blade has more up top but its hard to beat the jam in the midrange the 3 blade provides.

    3 vs 4 blade

on a stock pump installing the 4 blade will usually yields 200- 250 increase in rpm, hence 2-3 mph faster. however cavitation also increases at take off more so on modifieds.

For jumping waves, the 3 blade rocks!

    Great info guys

So is it 1mph or 2-3mph the top speed difference between the 3 and 4 blades?

If you know how to work with the 3 blade you can cut it down to 1mph. Straight out of the box is usually a greater difference. Depends on setups too. Like I said, some members have found that the three blades like higher RPM than the stock ECU provides. It is a give and take issue though. Is the midrange and hookup of the 3 blade worth more than the extra mph the 4 blade provides on top? That's a decision you will have to make.

U mean 3 blades work better with high revving ECU's like Rotax, riva or reflash ECU's?

I prefer stronger holeshot and acceleration over the extra 1mph from 4 blades

Yes. They can be run on the stock ECU, they just perform a little better with the high revving ECU's.

I swapped from a 15/20 repitched to 15/24 4-blade over to a 15.5/22.5 3-blade. The rev's dropped from 8100 down to about 7750, but the top speed changed by less than 1 mph. My experience seems to be different than most.
