The swirl by design is the a better impeller for your ski than stock(especially for bottom end performance, this is not the best speed impeller thou ) also, as you mod the ski you can easely get it repitched and so it would still be a good choice.. but once again, my advice... unless your o/e is bad ,drop your first $$$'s into the head and f/a's ( if you were to get this at a killer deal, dont wait it is a step in the right direction). IT WILL WORK IN A STOCK SKI ,THOU YOU MAY HAVE TO ADJUST YOUR NEEDLES TO FATTEN IT UP A TAD' TO BE SAFE..

    * there are impellers to be had in the classified yamaha section of GHPF all the time..AT BETTER THAN NEW $$'S and already have been trued and balanced by the top benders most of the time already (expect to drop about 85 to have this done to a new one, as most new 'out of boxer's' are not perfect..)
post a WTB in the YAMAHA CLASSIFIED'S and see what comes up..

Couple of questions do you have an aftermarket tach and a gps.
I had one of those 14/19 swirls and I sold it if I remember right it brought my rpm down to much.
I think you should gps your ski with the stock prop and see what your rpm is.It should be in the 6750rpm range.
Then swap props and do the same thing if your rpm is under 6700rpm thats not so good.
I think the prop needs more compression to get the rpm up over 6700rpm.

Hand held gps like Garmin etrex legend $70 on ebay
    Tiny tach $60 ebay

    There are better units

    GPS accurately measures your speed
    Tach accurately monitors rpm

Stock speedo and tach are not acurate enough.

Raising compresion is done be changing domes in an aftermarket cylinder head or by milling the stock cylinder head.

Raising comp results in higher speeds and more rpm.

as we discused earlyer your first order of buisness

    1. to get the hull to handle well (ie trim tabs and plate/ grate combonation)..
    2. then the milled head to raise compression and the f/a's to let that head milling breath..
    3. addition of the proper impeller pitched to the setup of your ski at that time..
take note every change to your ski could affect other parts usage..(meaning the prop or pitch your using this week may not be ideal when you and a pipe or a new intake grate

leaving it stock if you do not want to do this is your best choice unless you have big $$s to pay some one to do it for you..

a tach and gps should be in your tool arsenal to do maintainance and to record losses and gains in changes to your set up..

the fact is that you have an impeller now that could work fine up to and thru the most of all the basic mods.. this is an art picking the right combo's ..every ski is different...as you mentioned in your first post this is a limited impellar, meaning limited bolt ons ,but bolt ons have to on the ski first, to use it as it was intended .. its not the stock o/e pitch.. you must follow a step by step.. this, then this, then this.. no other order will help.. you it can hurt your engine if you do not follow this order...motor and mods must work in harmony or you will f' your motor up

as i stated earlyer you did luck out getting this at a good price..yes it will work in your ski well, your just jumping the gun a bit wanting to do it before the ones that need doing first..
