Anybody try something other than a Gibson?

Is all stainless Steel including the packing material. Not sure what size 2.5" or 3". 12"case 17: overall. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

    or 2.5" http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I have seeen them cheap at other sire $120-130 range Not sure if they would hold up any better than a gibson...but alot less $$$

How about using Gibson power tips? I know they are large. http://www.gibsonmarine.com/powertip1.html

I am a dealer for Borla. Dont recommend them much. Their entire platform is built off the Corvette. Highly recommend them for vettes but they will in fact crack.

Stainless is made of steel and chromium. The higher the amount of chromium the higher the grade of stainless. Unfortunately chromium is brittle hence cracks forming in exhaust. Exhaust takes alot of vibrations as well as harmonics. Throw exhaust in a ski that is on rock `n roll? It`ll crack quick. Aluminuum is your best option for nicely cooled exhaust on these skiis. I cut mine and have never looked back. Running no waterbox is just too loud for me.

So you want a Aluminum Muffler.. Do you still want the stainless steel packing or could you use something else?

In the ATV crowd, some of the guys like to "Go Deep". Which is another way of saying submarine. The glass pack style of mufflers don't survive long in the wet environment. They get real loud real fast.

LOL, yeah but they can ride and they have perfected the "mods" to waterproof an atv and make it reliably submersible. They are famous in atv circles. Definitely redneck but then what better way to say american then redneck. Sorry, I wasn't trying to hijack this thread.

You cant really beet the stock box for durability. It just needs to be modified for performance/sound gains. If its all out performance u are looking for,,,,eliminate the waterbox. No water ingestion at all.
