    Prop question

Hey guys! I am looking at buying this prop in the classifieds for my 2000 XLL1200.

    http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=85446

My ski is stock with D-plate/Chip, wave eater clips, Riva intake grate and PPK.

After reading and searching, I have determined that I need a 12/18, but just curious about this prop starting at a 13/18 and now it is 12/18.

Can anyone tell the condition of the prop? It looks good, but he said it is refinished. Does this look like a good buy, or should I just go new?

    Thanks

In my opinion new is a waist of money for the Solas Concord Props. There are so many good used ones around if you just look for a little while. I purchased a prop from the same seller, he is a great seller and has fast shipping.

I wouldnt question the seller in this case. I have owned an Stock XLT. I added a 12/18.5 concord and it was one of the best mods I ever did to any ski I have had. It added holeshot/midrange and top speed.

Thanks for the replies. I was not questioning the seller, however it is good to confirm that he is good... I was more looking for someone to say that is/is not a good choice of impeller for your stock 1200LTD....

no that is the wrong impeller, you would be better off with a Solas that is stamped 12/18 (Solas YF CD 12/1

Can someone please confirm that that is/is not a good prop for my 2000 XLL1200 (stock)?? What are the benefits of having one that is factory 12/18 compared to a 13/19 repitched to 12/18?? Please help... This sounds like a great deal!

the 13/19 (even pitched at 12/1 is too large a pitch for a stock XL

this is where it gets a little confusing ...

a 13/19 isn't really a 13/19 pitch, it comes from Solas more like an 11/17 pitch - so in fact a 13/19 pitched at 12/18 has had the pitch increased

a true Solas 12/18 will have a pitch that is actually less than 12/18

No way I am questioning/arguing with Phillip here. My stock XLT turned the 13/19 depitched with no problems whatsoever.

We are not talking about much money here. Why not just try it ?

I was hoping to only change the impeller once, as everytime I work on the ski it takes me 2 times as long as I expect (learn as I go). I have never changed the impeller before, but it looks like it is going to take some time since I also plan on changing the wear ring due to serious cavitation problems even after PPK installed.

    Any other opinions? THANKS!
