YES a strainer kit is worth every penny....It will help save your intercooler from getting clogged over time...Its not hard to do..Splice it into your water inlet hose and connect it via the fittings that come with the filter..Thats pretty much it..You will or may want to locate it to a convienant location in your ski so you can access it for cleaning..

Heres a thread that should help ya out on installation:

I didnt know Riva was selling a strainer kit.. I would go with the one in the Store..It comes with everything you will need to install it..Bracket,fittings and filter assembly...

Can you provide a link to that filter? I was unaware of Riva selling any Groco water strainers.

I would go with the one in the store..You can switch out the barbed fittings from straight to 90 degrees if needed depending on your application...

    Jerry here is that link:

No comparison between this and the Groco. The Groco is the best strainer on the market!

thats what i was trying to find out -- going to riva's link the description was close -- at the price it only says pwc -- in cart it says 34.95 -- but no pic or decent description to match up the two -- looks like 4-tech wins again like so many times before

Those Riva ones can break and cause lots of problems. I had the lid crack because it is so brittle. I have seen it happen to others also.
