I keep a light coat of XPS on my motor at all times... the salt will not even touch that stuff

Flush the exhaust and intercooler out with saltaway or a similar product.

Use Turtle wax car wash in a insecticide hose sprayer. It binds with the salt just like saltaway and leaves a light wax finish. Spray everything including the engine compt and rinse with water. It is much cheaper than saltaway and then spray with any product that does not have solvent in it. I use CRC marine 5-56 and I buy it from NAPA ( cheaper than any marine store. ) The key is to do it every time you ride and flush everything. Then once a season give everything a good wax.

Someone on another board claimed that Salt-Away was just dishwasher detergent - like Cascade. Don't know if it's true though... Ron
