Carb Re-Build Time!
I am about to rebuild my carbs and I wanted to check if this list of parts was complete. There is nothing wrong with the ski it works fine but i think the carbs need to be serviced after 8 years of use. Am i correct in this assumption or if it aint broke don't fix it? The ski has sat for 2 to 3 months at a time and still starts up but there should be some sort of varnishing right?
About the ski:
2001 GP1200R (original owner)

Am I missing anything? Should anything be done to the fuel delivery system i.e. the selector switch? I am also waiting for a reply from HallPass on a protec head he has for sale.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Looks like you have it covered.
-disable the accelerator pump
My personal preference on a stockish ski:
-ditch the selector
-use the "reserve" line as your carb feed line and your "on" line to feed your primer.
-remove the choke plates

Looks like you ski is basically stock. I think the 125's are too much. Go with 120's.

Too late for that i already placed the order. I just paid Hall pass for a protec head. Will the 125 jets be ok using that head?

If you are removing the chokes which it looks like you are, the 125 will be fine. everything listed will work fine with the Pro-Tec head.

Hey oside, any tricks of the trade for rebuilding my carbs. I have read the carb tuning sticky and I have worked on an SBN before but it was a single carb set up for my X-2. I'm a little apprehensive about the linkages and keeping them set as they were originally . Any help would be appreciated.

Follow the instructions Fercho has outlined in the how to section and you will be fine. They cover it really well. Syncronizing the carbs is actually pretty simple with these. The important thing is getting the pop-off equalized. Getting everything clean is a must to. I also like to do the drilled return's and add a jet in the return to tank line to balance the pumps.
