99 XLL pipe mod to keep from cracking?

Can someone tell me what parts are needed to prevent the 99 XLL pipes from cracking?

Which pipe are you talking about? Maybe the rear mounting tab for the S shaped pipe?

I had the same problem. I bet mines been welded (repaired) 5 times already. Someone on rivas forum told me about the up-dated front mounts yamaha went to on the 2001 and later xl1200, so I bought and installed them late last season, so well see if it holds up.

i think you just need washers to use as spacers.

unbolt the mounting bolts and slowly tighten back a few turns at a time. One bolt will pull the mating surfaces flush first. Most people just tighten the rest down, but you should get the side mount bolts tight and the u shape section bolts need spacers i think so you don't bend the cast alum pipe.
