    SC Belt Question

I noticed on the tension wheel that runs on the outside of the belt a couple of (1 inch long) rubber patches stuck to it is this normal? or should I be replacing the belt? Can't see any visible damage to the belt.
    Cheers

I don't have too much experience with SC belts but I know what you're speaking of. I've seen it plenty on the primary clutch on my Polaris ATV. That little bit of rubber will scratch off with your finger. It's really easy to remove and usually is just the surface material of the belt wearing off as the belt is breaking in. If the belt looks good, there are no cracks inside and out, and the width is within spec I wouldn't be too worried about it. But check with the service manual to make sure the tension is correct. It will give a spec on how much deflection there should be with a certain amount of weight being applied against it.
