    Ultra 150 issue

    Hi everyone,
This is my first post and I have been checking out this forum for about 2 months now and love it.
I have just bought a new 09 15f and we are loving it.
Just a quick question to any one in the know.
I was out riding with a friend who bought a 2001 ultra 150 of someone about 1 month ago.
This ski had a full engine rebuild about 20 hrs ago.
It was running good for about half hr and when he did a sharp turn and tried to power out of the hole it just stoped. He could not crank it over. It just would not turn over like it was seized or something.
He had a new battery and starter motor fitted 2 weeks ago.
After about 15 minutes he finally got it cranking over and started, but when we were riding back to shore it would not go over 4000rpm. He also noticed a knock or something in the engine. He also noticed that the water coming out of the cooling jet was near boiling in temperature after it first cranked over.
He will be taking the ski back to the mechanic who fitted the starter motor and battery to find out whats wrong.
Any one care to add any ideas on this one.

    Regards Matt.

Pull the heads and have a look. Sounds like it overheated and seized up, did he notice any difference in the amount of water flow coming out of the side pisser?

    Thanks Paul,
I just rang him and he said that one of the cooling water jets was running alot less than the other ones, this ski has 3 or 4 side jets and one was flowing alot less than the others so it does sound like it over heated and seized.
Is it a major job to get fixed up or not to much to do, he is just stressing out that it will cost him lots of $ that he does not have a the moment.

    Regards Matt.
