94 Raider premix conversion carb adj question

I have converted my 700 waveraider over to premix and am wondering how much to adjust the carbs to compensate for this?

    It is a factory ski.

In other words, I am not sure what the low and hi turns should be from all in?

Thanks. You guys have always steered me right in my rebuilds before.

Add 1/8 to the top needles to compensate for the oil taking the "gases" space. The lows should be fine.

Do you happen to know what the factory settings are?

I have found a few differing sites. I see one has the LS at 3/4 another at 1 1/4

and the HS at 1 1/4 and the other place says 2

    Which is it?

I would recommend that you remove the choke plates...install a primer to help the carbs breath better and go up to 2 turns open on top and slowly move them in to get your peak RPM then drop them back 1/4 turn for extra safey. Trust me when I say get a good tach when turnning though my friend. You need something that updates every second

I have added the primer kit. And I plated off the oil pump.

Do you know what the original specs are for the Low speed? I appreciate the input for the high speed?

I would start again with 2 and work your way back in. The stock specs could vary from machine to machine hence no real "stock" setting is posted in manuals. The porting "casting" is different on EVERY engine. Yours may want 1 1/4 where mine may want 2 ...just depends on quality control and or how everything flows. NO tunning should be done without a tach....you will stick a piston. Did you remove the choke plates?

NP....again...you can't go wrong with them at 2 turns...it just will be rich and won't hit top speed. Start there so you know your safe and then work backwards. Try to get a good tach from a comm tiny tach or even better is a Pet 2100Dx...but depending on what you do and or how much mods you want to do...the 2nd is a bit pricy for a limited use. I bet someone lives close by you that may have a tach you can borrow for 15 minutes to trim in the needles

On the tach installation. Where do you hook the tack up exactly. I have an automotive tach that maybe could work.
    thanks,

Around a plug wire for most. I doubt your auto tach will work or be fast enough fir tuning!
