    09 FZR acceleration testing results

I did some Stalker ATS acceleration testing on my new FZR today.

The temperature today was 78 degrees with 88% humidity

I was trying to go for real world results and to capture results of what the average consumer would obtain had they gone out and bought a new ski off the showroom floor. We started our testing with a full tank of fuel.
The test rider was a friend of mine by the name of Bryan Richard. He's what I would call a novice rider. Never has owned a ski before but has been on one a few times. Rider weight was 174 pounds. Trim was left in the neutral position for all of the runs.

The ski had only 2.1 hours on it at the beginning of these tests.

We conducted a total of 6 runs and obtained the averages listed below.

    Average MPH times
    0-30 1.90 seconds
    0-40 2.61 seconds
    0-50 3.59 seconds
    0-60 5.26 seconds

I will be conducting more acceleration testing as i add modifications.

Jerry what numbers were you able to obtain? Or is this the only rider you tested? I understand you could run this test a bazillion different ways and still not make everyone happy, but it would be interesting to see the difference between the "average" rider and an experienced rider.

Also, is the Stalker gun yours Jerry? Would be really cool to see how the FZR grows as you mod it.

    Thanks Jerry.
That's pretty dang fast considering the size of that hull.
0-60 for the RXT-X was reported here at 4.74 seconds...

Yes, Bryan was the only rider. I probably could have squeaked another tenth of a second off his time by playing with the trim but i wanted to show results that would be in line with what the general population would get on their new out the box skis.

The Stalker radar gun is mine so you guys can look forward to more updates as I add modifications.

yeah....curious what difference an experienced rider will make.....

It will prolly become a necessity to play with the trim and shift bodyweight over the bars to keep that pump tunnel hooked up, esp as more mods r done.....

very good numbers tho Jerry....I'm sure ur friend was having a great time.... Keep us posted.....

He had a great time. If i could have showed him how to operate the radar gun and Stalker software on the laptop i would have made a few runs.

Next time I will bring Carey with me and let her operate the gun.

It would also be interesting to see how much would be gained while low on fuel.
