    milky/oily substance coming from exhaust?

to my ski out yesterday for the first time this season (04 1300r) and noticed alot of light brown oily substance coming from the exhaust. also the surge is still there around 5500 rpm. and the best speed i saw was 62.1 on gps with good conditions and full tank of gas (75 degrees, little to no chop). what may be causing this bad performance?

thats what im thinking, but what about the pv's? they all turn freely with no play between them, and the servo motor is working too

The "milky substance" sounds like water in the exhaust, but it's the first ride of the season so that may be crud leftover from last season.

I have gas valves now, and the sole reason I switched was the total misery involved with having electric PV's. They're nothing but trouble which is why I suspect them. You'll have to pull the seat off and watch the servo motor while going WOT to see if the motor is working properly.

Is the motor cycling properly when you briefly hit the start button? Are the couplers ok?

well you should probably know the whole story last season the cooling hose came off at WOT while my brother was riding it, replaced the head fixed the hose and a couple gaskets later it was running, but this has been the problem ever sense. i just replaced the couplers (waveeaters) and the motor cycles like it should, ill try riding with the seat off to see if they actually do cycle under power. and i agree some of it was probably left over gunk, but it was still coming out a bit when i got back to the house and flushed it out

ill see if i cant find my old posts of when it blew up
