    SL 900 to 1050 Project

    Hey guys, just looking for an opinion on a project that I may go ahead with. Looking at buying a SL900 with a toasted engine for cheap. I also have a lead on a 1050 engine for a good deal. I was thinking of dropping in the 1050 in the SL900's hull.

    Any issues that I should be aware of? Is it just plug and play?

    Also, I have a two Fuji powered Sls, is it recommened to get the intake grate and ride plate for this Sl also? I know the 900 has the extended pump, but I am just curious if this model also bounces around like crazy when you hit some wake.

    The engine mounting is the same between 900 and 1050.

    What about the CDI and electrical boxes? Are you going to try using the 900 box with the 1050 engine?

    What model years are you combining? I think there were some little differences from year to year.

    Do the carbs come with the 1050?

    The 900 impeller may over rev into the limiter with the 1050's extra power.

    The 1050 comes with carbs, it just has a bad stator which the SL900 has.

    I was going to use the 900 box with the 900 stator in the engine. I don't expect the cdi curve to be that different. I really don't know, that is why I am asking.

    The 900 and 1050's use the same cdi's and stators so that will work just fine i would use the 1050 carbs and as far as impellers the 900 one should be just fine theres not much difference between the two motors in there stock form .
