96 XP Worx Sponsons Hardware ?'s

I bought a set of Worx sponsons but they didn't come with the hardware needed to install. Does anyone know the length of the bolts to use? Can you use the stock hardware?

Yes, you can use stock hardware. They use SS screws, around 1/4" in diameter, and maybe 2.5" long if memory serves me correctly. They also welded a 1.5" SS fender washer to each nut to prevent it from pulling through.

i woudl still make a backer plate for them. I just took mine off that i have had on there for 4 years and the washers were bent and starting to make a outy in the side of the hull.

This is a very typical stock list for an aftermarket sponson kit. The problem is, the surface on the inside of the hull is very irregular and the washers don't sit flat. When you tighten the screws, they can stress the fiberglass and cause cracks over time. This won't happen on every hull, but the XP sidewalls are pretty thin (at least mine were).
