    piston wear pictures

hi hopefully my pictures have turned out ok. as you can see one piston has detenated. the other we did buff the top to read the numbers as these two pistons are not the same. can anyone see any signs of what has caused this problem. i bought the ski 3 weeks ago and it was supposed to have been fully rebuilt. i have taken these pistons to two different shops but no one is entirely sure on what has happened. they both think it was probably from runnig to lean. i have read the workshop maual i purchased yesterday and have read that you can measure the amount of oil produced by the oil pump to each cylinder. but i am not sure on tuning to prevent from running lean.
    much appreciated.

My bet is you got cracked oil lines and that bad piston is #2. The other possibility is a clog in the cooling system. Check the cooling line on that cylinder. The piston with an arrow on the crown is a stock piston the other is a wsm. I would go ahead and do a topend rebuild and new oil lines. If this guy did a rebuild it was done half ass. The first pic is from a cracked oil line the latter pics are lean. Last 2 are detonation and lean.
