Thread: Price Check

For most of you who know me, I am new to the Seadoo game, but not skis, so please excuse the newbie question.
I found a clean 2006 RXP 215 with 25 hours on the ski and 3 hours on the motor. The 1st motor ate the sc washers and SD replaced the entire motor under warranty, seller claims new factory motor. The guy wants $6600 with galvanized trailer. I know this is less than NADA but with the motor issue and all, I am questioning this.
How can I tell if it is a factory replacement motor or not and is the price in line with a new motor or not?
PS, SD did give an extra year warranty which is up in July.

Have someone run the VIN it should tell what work was done.

look on the front of the motor just above the motor mount bracket... see if the serial plate is there or not...
if it's missing... changes are it's a new engine in there (replacement engines under warranty do not come with new serial plates) ... and most dealers dont wind up re-attaching the old serial plate onto the new motor
