    4-Tec Rebuild

Where can I find a full rebuild kit for a 4-Tec? I'm talking main bearings and all.

There is no such kit that I've ever seen. You are going to have to order the individual parts that you need. IIRC, there is a full gasket set, but that's about it... Ron

You have to get the parts individually

That makes sense to me. If you just need parts for one cylinder, why buy three? Afterall, you could buy a complete engine from BRP... Ron

Its great they are available seperately as they should be but I think it would be wise for BRP to offer the rebuild kit as it would save customers and service centers tons of time in finding parts.

main bearings and rod bearings should be like exhaust valves... only sold in complete sets...

shouldn't even give the opportunity for some hack to only replace 2 or 3 of the bearings and leave the rest of the old ones in there, lol

reminds me of a motor i took apart that was freshly rebuilt with zero run-time... pulled the head off and saw 2 pistons were oversized and 1 piston was stock sized... took the motor apart and they even left the old rings on the stock sized piston... how can you seriously hone out two holes and leave 1 alone all stock with old piston and old rings, lol... would love to meet that machinest.....there's all kinds out there, gotta love it

    Having just rebuilt mine....

Putting a parts list together for a 4 tec is like trying to read the yellow pages from cover to cover...

Someone in the know should post such a list.

I vote for shibby now that he has nothing but time on his hands and isnt working any longer.

I know the feeling, I had to replace the entire hood on my GTX. It took three orders to get all the parts I missed on the initial order. Mama Doo needs to consider selling assemblies
