    Extending J-pipe - Help...

    Hi all.

I need some help, I'm finding the TDR water box way to loud in my GPRXP for a social ski so i'm installing a standard RXP water box. due to the shape of the GPR, the hull pushes the water box just a little to much towards the centre of the ski causing the J-pipe to twist meaning the bottom water jacket outlet hits the SC housing so I need to extend the J-pipe.

The three options I have - two bellow from Jerry's store, which will extend the J-pipe the furthest?

    http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=666

    http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=882

The third option is build an extention my self (as I'd rather it be longer) but I was told as this part isn't water Jacketed, if its too long it will creat to much heat and start melting coolant/water hoses in the area? Is this correct? and is there any other solutions?

Also... anyone know in MPH, how much RPM or MPH I am likely to loose by using the factory water box (this isn't a great issue for me though).

    Thanks..

Why not just add the GPR sound suppression ? A couple others have done it. I was able to get the top house to work perfect. Just need to extend the bottom one a little.

Most conversion peeps cut the lower water feed and weld it shut. Then plug the lower feed from the manifold and only run one feed.

so, will extending the j-pipe allow the OEM waterbox to fit?

    I dont think so Tim.

It MAY go into the OEM inlet, but then you are going to have to do something to the outlet to get it connected to the GPR outlet in the tunnel. I talked to mark before I mod'ed the RXP box to fit and his/our biggest concern is that the RXP boxes have been known to blow apart. My thinking is that since I gutted the RXP box and added a bigger outlet to work with the blue FF hose, it reduced the pressure in the box so there is nothing to worry about. I dont know if my theory is correct or not. Only time will tell.

Sorry to get off topic, but the sound of the TDR or GH box is awesome.
I love to disrupt the social group,.

I don't have the ski here to take photos ( I should have taken photos yesterday), but with the J-pipe connected to the water box, it seems to fit fine if it was moved back (extended) a couple of inches). (no chance of photos now as the ski is an hours drive away at the moment).

The biggest problem is the kink in the GPR hull that pushes the water box towards the center of the hull, causing the J-pipe to twist and the bottom water jacket feed to hit the supercharger. To me yesterday it looked as though extending the J-pipe would resolve this issue
