Fitting RXP water box to GPRXP
Anyone else other then Jeffsntx fit an RXP water box to their GPRXP?
trying to avoid cutting up the RXP water box, I think it can be done by just extending the J-pipe a little... but how much can it be extended before you starting having heat issues melting hoses with an un-water jacketed piece of exhaust?
anyone else done it? photos would be much appreciated. only one I found was this one

It can not be done without some serious fabrication. Notice that I had to cut off the inlet and the outlet and basicly start over with just a "pill" shaped box. The inlet and outlet are in the wrong place and the outlet is way too small to just "drop in". Hydrotoys has pics somewhere, I think they are in the vigilante exhaust thread.

This has been hashed to death. I did this back in 2006, and there are at LEAST 2-3 threads on it.
See post 5 and post 12 thru 31.
as well as this thread...
It can't be done without welding, and/or cutting. Plus, you will need to adapt the outlet to the gpr outlet or do a tiny SD thru hull. Plus if you try and use it in the stock location, it's BACK in the way of SC removal, just like it is in the RXP.
You can cut out under the port footwell, reducing MORE structure and almost get away with it.
The RR waterbox can fit, with some pipe angle cutting, AND some cutting out under the port footwell.
Even on the sho-gpr's you have to redo the exhaust manifold so that it can line up with the gpr.

Your best 2 options, are modifying a GP1200R waterbox, or purchasing a MC1 waterbox from TDR.
The Rotax racing is too expensive and too restrictive.
Next to that, make your own.
