    Painting a GPR

Just checking to see how many people out there have painted their entire hull and how they are holding up. I am worried about the paint flaking off of the bottom side of the hull.
I really want a black GPR and I think it would be less trouble to paint my 2001 instead of selling and then buying an 06.

you'll see plenty of painted ski's.

The problem I see with painting a white ski black, is as you land it on the sand, over time the ebrasions/scatches on the bottome, you will see the white on the under side. There should be no reason pait to flake if the hull is prepared properly before painting

    (I'm about to paint mine)

Kirk, I have over Five hrs. on mine at this point! Top and bottom painted if you look at my build under projects. The garage at this point has put more scratches than anything! I use an anchor when I'm rolling up to the beach to protect the bottom! at this point I should not have painted the bottom! It is a pain in the ass when you have to pull up to the beach! Just a thought for you But it does look good for a while! Lee

I have a guy here in town who everyone I talked to have great things to say.
From what I read above, I may just repaint my top deck white too. I have no cracks, just some scratches so I am hoping he can buff them out and then hit the deck with some clear. I will be bringing it to him in about 3 weeks to see what can be done so I will give you a ring afterwards.

I would like to know what kind of prices you guys are quoted. I asked my paint guy about doing the deck & hull of my next project & he quoted me around $1500. Not sure if that's low or high.

No problem. I will add to this post once I have more details.
