    broken sponson bolts

while I was taken out the bolts for the sponson on a 2001 gpr two of the three bolts broke. i see that there is no opening to get to that bracket. has anyone taken one of these out before?

I had the same problem,i found it was easier to drill and tap the holes in that plate rather than take it out, start with a 1/8 cobalt drill and work your way up,just be patient,it'll eventually come out.

I tried the "as seen on tv" GRABBIT. It didn't work. it had potential but the bit wasn't long enough to get in there and bite down with all that corrosion. save the $20.00 and don't let your girlfriend buy anything off an infomercial

Yeap, drill and tap the holes, bring a 6pack along for the ride. You gotta be reeeaaaalllllll patient, but eventually it will come out.. Like gaz1 said, it's your best bet/ easiest solution..

I wonder if spraying some PB Blaster (or similar substance) and letting it soak overnight would help?

As previously stated, drill and tap.

Other thing is the sponsons themselves are cheap. You could always heat up around the sponson and rip them off. From there you can get better access with some vice grips or something.
