more bass would be produced if the sub woofers faced the back of the car. But ghetto nonetheless.

not neccessarly. you can get more decibals if the subs are firing up or towards the front. the decibal meter is placed on the dash so you want to force as much pressure to the front. also with the wall, if the subs were firing backwards then how would the bass get to the front of the car? it would just cause the trunk to rattle. this would be close to an ideal setup for DB drags except for that crap on the hood

The speakers facing backwards reverberates against the trunk and window. It produces more bass that way. I used 2 do this dumb stuff when I was a kid, trust me. I speak from experience.

I have alot of years working in car audio.Clean bass needs 12' of travel to the ears of the driver to produce 'clean' bass at that distance. We did tons of testing to get there.Facing drivers towards the rear at a 12' target distance is ideal.SPL,build a wall period! Bass becomes distorted with a wall and mids and highs are just out the window. I have built walls that have sounded good, but not clear.Just sharing 'my experiences' with you guys. I understand technology has changed alot and maybe things have got better.

when doing DB drags sound quality means nothing. all that matters is forcing pressure to the dash. i did DB drags for 4 years and worked at car stereo shops for 5 years. also keeping the inside of your car cold is good for a couple of DB. it is true that when firing towards the rear it will create a better sound quality. as far as the 12" target distance, it also depends on the volume of the box and port size. when i had my old system i dried my car by just by giving it a lil burp.
